The Philadelphia 76ers are facing a critical Game 4 against the New York Knicks on Sunday afternoon with a major injury hanging over their heads. Star center Joel Embiid, the reigning NBA MVP, underwent a procedure on his injured left knee on Tuesday, February 6, and will be sidelined indefinitely.

The injury occurred with just over two minutes remaining in the first half of Game 3 on Friday night. Embiid left the game and did not return, casting a shadow over Philadelphia's 119-108 victory.

The Sixers will now have to find a way to weather the storm without their star player. Embiid is averaging 33.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game this season, and his absence will be a major blow to the team's offense.

Stay tuned to ESPN for the latest updates on Embiid's injury and how it will affect the Sixers in the playoffs.
